Goblin Valley Outing

The sculptured rock formations in Utah are always worth the drive. This time Darron & Jamie chose the destination: Goblin Valley. The weather was perfect and the goblins were cool (the goblins are the rock formations for those w/o imaginations). After the goblins, we drove to a trail head and then hiked where there was absolutely no trail, just a dry stream. We saw a lot of lizards, found a bunch of geodes, enjoyed the natural landscapes, spent good family time together, and took a few pictures.

These last two pics demonstrate a huge difference in personalities. Robby is pushing a boulder down into the valley onto a group of unsuspecting happily picnicking orphans. Darron is bracing a boulder from tumbling onto the same group.

Pumpkin Patch Hayride

This was pretty much the coldest day of the year so far. Now that I think about it, I have never been on a hayride when the weather wasn't cold enough to sting my ears. We enjoyed a hayride and picked out pumpkins. Then we went back to Darron & Jamie's house to be scalded by chili (the spices had been accidentally doubled or quadrupled or something), but it was good anyway.

Autumn in AF Canyon

Between sessions of conference we drove up American Fork Canyon to see the autumn colors. It was spectacular, so the next day our family and Richard & Lisa's family went up to get some pics. The beauty was stunning and the scenery wasn't too bad either.
